Testimonials

“Monica is so warm, supportive and encouraging, and adaptable to your needs and preferences. She creates your therapeutic routine through manageable steps. Unlike what can happen in a group class, she sees where alignment needs to be corrected. By engaging in regular practice of the routine she developed for me, in six - eight weeks I experienced substantial improvement with movement, flexibility, and pain. I felt like I had shed a few years of aging, and could do things again that I had been ready to give up on”.  B.R.

“Monica helped me navigate through my pain using a variety of techniques that could be easily accessed and incorporated into daily living and routines, from gentle movements to quiet visualization exercises. I continue to use these practices and techniques throughout my day, especially when trying to avoid taking anti-inflammatories. I find that by using what I have learned through yoga therapy with Monica, my pain can be alleviated and managed to a level of higher functioning”.

I took Monica's Yoga for Persistent Pain workshop and immediately knew this was a modality that would be helpful, not just for me, but for the patients I see, working in a rehabilitation setting.  Yoga isn't just a physical practice. It's a mindset that helps equip you to live as fully as possible despite having some unpleasant physical issues.  Monica's gentle and accepting approach can feel like a balm to the soul, as she guides participants through mindful acceptance and gentle movement to calm the nervous system and re-regulate the mind and body. Sharing the practice of yoga with others with similar chronic conditions is also extremely healing....because we know we're with others who get it!

As someone who has taken many different kinds of yoga classes (and completed my 200 hour YTT) I know this course is so very needed!  It's an important complimentary discipline to help participants befriend their bodies with lovingkindness and gratitude, offering the tools needed to find joy, peace, courage and connection.

There are 3 reasons why I recommend Monica.  First of all, she is very client centered.  At our initial meeting my goals were the first thing that was discussed.  This made me feel that I was the #1 priority. [2] Monica’s communication skills are excellent!  Immediately after our first session she emailed a Yoga plan to me, based on my goals and her assessment.  After additional sessions, Monica promptly emailed changes to my plan and additional information to improve my Yoga practice.  This made me feel that Monica was listening, closely.  [3] Monica is delightful.  Your journey is her journey.  When I was unable to complete some Yoga positions, I laughed.  Monica laughed with me.  This made me feel encouraged!  Enjoy and learn with Monica!
