About me
I’m a certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) and an experienced yoga teacher (E-RYT500) with over 15 years of experience teaching yoga. I have a passion for supporting people on their paths to greater ease, balance, and well-being. My approach to yoga therapy is grounded in both tradition and science, and is shaped by the truth that yoga is for everyone—regardless of age, experience, or ability.
Before dedicating my career to yoga therapy, I earned a Ph.D. in Zoology, studying seals in Peru. I also spent over 5 years teaching college courses in Biology and Anatomy & Physiology. These experiences provided me with a strong foundation in science and an understanding of the human body, allowing me to integrate modern research and evidence-based approaches into my yoga therapy work.
Yoga became a vital part of my life during the stress of graduate school, offering not just relief, but a profound sense of peace. Through yoga, I learned to navigate life’s challenges—including anxiety, depression, and chronic pain. That personal experience fuels my commitment to sharing yoga with others.
In my work, I focus on personalized, one-on-one yoga therapy sessions tailored to each client’s specific needs and goals. I also offer accessible group classes—both public and private—that emphasize mindfulness, relaxation, and self-awareness. My teaching style is nurturing and gentle, encouraging students to tune in to their bodies and move in ways that support healing and ease.
Rooted in yoga’s 5,000-year-old wisdom, my practice honors the view that we are already whole and that healing arises from within. We are complex beings, made up of body, energy, mind, and spirit—and all of these layers can work together to support our well-being.
In my free time you’ll find me enjoying the outdoors with my dog, looking for wildlife, or maybe skiing, biking, or kayaking. At home I enjoy reading, cooking, and spending time with my family.
I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you on your journey to wellness.
